BARTON (AP) -- Police have made an arrest in a Vermont jewelry store break-in in which the burglar was wearing a wolf mask.
Marc Blanc, 23, of Barton was arrested Thursday on charges of burglary and grand larceny, accusing him of taking $15,000 in estate jewelry and a 400-pound safe from Barton's Memory Lane in August.
Someone also broken into the Solid Rock Church next door to the store beforehand, police said. Other burglaries also have been reported in the area.
Witnesses told police the masked man was in the building for about 15 minutes before leaving with the safe full of gold jewelry, according to the Caledonian-Record (http://bit.ly/OVrQak). The thief also took silver jewelry from around the store, police said.
Police also are investigating several other break-ins and burglaries in Barton in August.
Authorities were still looking for Daniel Greenwood, 35, of Barton, who's wanted on charges of burglary and being an accomplice after the fact. Police say they almost caught Greenwood at the Orleans County Fair in Barton but he escaped. He's armed and could be dangerous, authorities said.
A 14-year-old accomplice is cooperating with police and said Greenwood was behind the South Barton burglaries, police said in an affidavit.
