DORSET - State police said they are in the midst of investigating
what they believe to be a single-vehicle crash on Dorset West Road
Monday where the driver abandoned the vehicle.
Police said a passerby reported seeing the damaged vehicle on the roadside, near Church Street, with its four-way flashers on, but no driver in sight. The call came in at 2:26 a.m., police said, adding that it appears excessive speed caused the vehicle to go out of control, strike a tree, then bounce back into the road.
Police said they have identified a suspected driver, but are still investigating.
