According to multiple reports the Los Angeles Clippers and Boston Celtics have agreed in principle to a deal that will allow Celtics head coach Doc Rivers to take the same job with the Clippers.

The deal is pending league approval.

According to ESPN.com, the Clippers will sign Rivers to a three-year, $21 million contract. They will send a first-round pick as compensation for the Boston Celtics, who have agreed to release the coach from the three years, $21 million he has remaining on his deal.

The Celtics have scheduled a press conference for Monday at their training facility in Waltham. Rivers is expected to explain his decision to depart Boston. President of basketball operations Danny Ainge will also answer questions.
